How posting to Nostr works
You share a thought with Bangers: a voice note, a written update, an idea worth putting out. The team drafts a single Nostr note in your voice. You review it and approve it. Once approved, it's signed and published on schedule to the Nostr network.
Nostr is the most different of the networks Bangers connects to, since there's no company behind it running servers or accounts, just relays passing around signed notes. Connecting it and publishing to it both work a little differently from every other channel as a result, which is worth knowing going in.
What Bangers knows about Nostr
Nostr has no hard character limit in Bangers. There's no protocol-enforced cap the way X or Bluesky has one. The drafting playbook writes it as a plain short post: one idea, no hashtags, written to stand on its own.
Nostr publishing through Bangers is single posts only right now: no threads and no longform title-and-body format. A thread or longform draft aimed at a Nostr channel is rejected with a clear reason rather than forced into a shape Nostr publishing doesn't support yet.
Media isn't supported either: no generated image or video, and nothing you upload yourself through Telegram. Text only.
The mechanics are worth knowing because Nostr works differently from every other network here: there's no account to log into and no server holding your posts. Bangers signs your note locally using your own key (following the NIP-01 note format) and then publishes it directly to a small set of well-known public relays: relay.damus.io, nos.lol, and relay.nostr.band. Publishing counts as successful the moment at least one of those relays accepts it; it doesn't need all three.
Connecting it
Connecting Nostr takes one field: your secret key, either as an nsec1… string or as 64 hex characters.
There's no external account check here, because Nostr doesn't have a central server to check against. Your secret key is the credential. Bangers verifies the key by deriving its matching public key locally; if that derivation succeeds, the key is valid. The secret key itself is what signs every note before it's sent to the relays, so treat it the way you'd treat any other private key.
Because there's no account to revoke access from, disconnecting Nostr in Bangers is the only way to stop it from signing new notes on that key. There's no separate "app permission" to pull on Nostr's side the way there is for networks with a real login.
When it fails
Nothing publishes without your approval first. If the actual publish fails after approval (every relay in the set rejected the note, or none of them could be reached), you're notified in Telegram within a minute with the reasons from each relay, and you can retry.
