How posting to Instagram works
You share a thought with Bangers: a voice note, a written update, an idea worth putting in front of your audience. The team drafts a caption for Instagram in your voice, and you review and approve it the same way you would for any other channel, ahead of it publishing on schedule.
Instagram is one of several networks Bangers reaches through a hosted sign-in rather than a credential form. You sign in with Instagram itself, on its own screen, and Instagram decides what access it hands back.
What Bangers knows about Instagram
Instagram captions have a hard 2,200-character limit, and Bangers checks against it. The drafting playbook follows what it calls the Instagram caption playbook, written for a caption sitting under a photo rather than a standalone text post, a different job than a Threads post or an X post, even when the underlying idea is the same. Even though Instagram and Threads share a parent company, Bangers doesn't reuse one draft for both: an Instagram caption assumes a photo is doing part of the work, where a Threads post has to carry the whole idea in the text.
That last part matters: Instagram doesn't accept a text-only post the way X or LinkedIn does. Every post needs an image or video attached, and Bangers refuses to send an Instagram post without one rather than letting it fail quietly. You can attach a single image, a single video, or a carousel of two to ten slides, each with its own headline and body rendered as an image; the image or video behind any of these can be generated by Bangers or uploaded to your media library.
Instagram publishing through this connection also doesn't support threads or a longform format: it's always a single caption with the image, video or carousel attached, the same shape most of Bangers' hosted-sign-in networks share.
Connecting it
Connecting Instagram uses a hosted sign-in. From the channel connection screen, choose "Connect with Instagram." That opens Instagram's own sign-in and permission screen. You log in there and approve access directly with Instagram. Once you approve, Bangers brings the connected account back as a channel.
Because the permission lives with Instagram rather than a password Bangers stores, you can pull access at any time from Instagram's own settings for connected apps, and Bangers loses the ability to publish to that account immediately, no separate step needed on the Bangers side. Once you approve the connection, the account is ready for drafting, review and publishing right away.
When it fails
Every post still needs your approval before anything is sent: nothing publishes on its own. If a publish attempt fails (right now, that includes any attempt without an image or video attached, since Instagram requires one), you're notified in Telegram within a minute with the specific reason, and you can retry once the missing piece is resolved.
Frequently asked questions
What media can I attach to an Instagram post? A single image, a single video, or a carousel of two to ten slides, generated by Bangers or uploaded to your media library. Instagram itself requires at least one of these on every post, and Bangers refuses to send a post without one.
Can Bangers publish Instagram carousels? Yes. Bangers can render a carousel of two to ten slides, each with its own headline and body, and publish them as a single caption with that set of images attached.
What's the caption length Bangers uses for Instagram? Up to 2,200 characters, Instagram's own limit, written to read as a caption under an image or video rather than a standalone post.
